Door channels changing the way bathrooms and bedrooms combine
The role of architectural designer continues to grow in complexity as the demands of clients swell and the desire to push design limits escalate. With this in mind, those providing solutions for the design community are also having to accelerate their innovation and look at new ways to service the industry. One such operator is JESANI. A company born from the search for an innovative solution.
Grant Hohaia is an award-winning builder with more than 40 years’ experience. He launched JESANI in 2010 after identifying a gap in the construction market for a revolution of the shower and door channel.
“Unlike traditional methods that aim to stop water flow, often redirecting it back into the wetroom, the JESANI door and shower channels offer an advanced approach. These channels are engineered to allow water, whether over or beneath tiles, to flow seamlessly into the drainage channel and subsequently into the grey water system, a dry waste stack, or directly outside. The JESANI door channel provides much needed overflow relief and provides a sound and practical solution for any bathroom or wet area,” shares Grant.
Already a weapon in the arsenal of many New Zealand builders and architectural designers, JESANI door channels offer critical protection from accidental overflows, ensuring long term structural integrity and occupant health.
Designed for maximum protection, JESANI channels feature 90mm integrated flanges on all wet sides, comfortably exceeding the 70mm waterproofing lap requirement stipulated by industry standards. This patented feature ensures that each JESANI Door and Shower channel isn't just NZBC E3 (3.3.2) compliant but sets a new benchmark in wetroom drainage solutions.
Adding to its appeal, the JESANI door channel is sleek in design and functionality. It is also completely customisable, with the grill inserts able to be left simple and modern with a stainless-steel finish or be powder coated to match the tiles or vinyl of the project.
Grant says over the years JESANI has provided practical solutions for many clients and architectural designers looking for a solution for overflowing water.
“We have helped clients overcome consenting issues, we have enabled designers to get more creative in their master bedroom and ensuite designs and we have provided important solutions for complex commercial design problems. We work with architectural designers across New Zealand to provide world class custom made linear channels for homes across the country,” says Grant.
